Edward Marino, 91, of Piscataway, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Ed lived his life there until settling in Piscataway in 2020. He served honorably in the US Army from 1952 to 1956 during the Korean conflict and, then from 1957 to 1961 in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era. After returning form the Air Force, Ed worked as a Longshoreman for several years before becoming a Customs Agent with the United States Customs Service. He worked at the Red Hook Marine Terminal in Brooklyn, NY and later at JFK Airport in Queens, NY before his retirement in 1989 after 25 years of service. He enjoyed cooking and following all of New York’s sports teams.
Predeceased by his siblings, Robert and Ernie Marino and Irene Pokonski, he is survived by his nephew, Robert Pokonski and his wife, Carole.
Funeral services are private. Interment will be in the Brig. General William C. Doyle New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.
