Cecilia Ann Horowitz

Cecilia Ann Horowitz, 56, of Spotswood, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 13, 2018 after a lengthy illness.

Cecilia was born and raised in Rockaway Township before moving to Sayreville for nine years. She settled in Spotswood in 1998. She was a supervisor for the Alumni Association's Department of Annual Giving at Rutgers University in New Brunswick for the last ten years. Cecilia was passionate about singing and dancing and was an avid fan of Motown music and the Jackson Five group. She cherished time spent with her family and her children. As her sons were growing up, she was always there to cheer them on during all of their sporting events. Together with her family she enjoyed trips to the Jersey Shore and to Myrtle Beach, SC. She was a reluctant fan of the NY Giants due to the passion for the team shown by her husband and sons. She also enjoyed playing card games with her family and friends.

Predeceased by her parents, Robert and Ruth Howard and her sister Eileen Sasso, Cecilia is survived by her husband of 28 years, Gerald; her sons Benjamin and Robert, all of Spotswood, and; her siblings, Kathy Brundin, Maureen Spalteholz, Thomas and Robert "Bobby" Howard.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning at 10:15 AM from Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. The family will receive friends for a Memorial Service on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and again from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, NJ.
