David Alan Joseph Sorrentino, 21, of Monroe Township, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 17th, in Radnor Township, Pennsylvania, while attending college at Villanova University.
Born in New York City, New York, David lived in New Brunswick for a short period of time before settling in Monroe in 2004. He was a graduate of Immaculate Conception School in Spotswood, where he played soccer for both ICS and the Monroe Township Travel Soccer team. He was a 2015 graduate of his beloved Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, where he ran track and was a member of both the school band and the chess team. He graduated Villanova University with a Major in Economics and a Dual Minor in Business and Statistics. David was a very generous and caring person and he cherished time spent with his family, siblings and friends. Disney World in Florida was his favorite place on earth and he enjoyed searching the park for hidden Mickeys.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Edmee and Buffon Mondestin and his paternal grandmother, Martha Sorrentino. He is survived by his parents, Drs. David Sorrentino and Myriam Mondestin-Sorrentino of Monroe Twp., his siblings Marc Anthony and Gabriella Marie Sorrentino; his paternal grandfather, Francis Sorrentino of Monroe Twp., and; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will begin on Saturday, December 29th with a 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial from Mary Mother of God Church, 19 Cherry Tree Farm Road, Middletown. Cremation will then follow. The viewing will be on Friday evening, December 28th, from 5:00 to 9:00 PM in the Alumni Hall of Christian Brothers Academy, 850 Newman Springs Rd, Lincroft. Funeral services are under the direction of Spotswood Funeral Home, Spotswood.
