Gail L. Howard

Gail L. Howard, 65, of Bound Brook, formerly of Sayreville passed away October 14, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerville surrounded by her loving family.  Born and raised in Spotswood, Gail was a longtime Sayreville resident and former congregant of Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, Spotswood. 

Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Shoprite in Spotswood where she took on many roles but mainly that of cashier and baker.  She proudly worked at Shoprite for over 40 years. 

In earlier years, Gail enjoyed cruise vacations, sewing, bowling and trips to Atlantic City with her friends. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with her dogs, getting out for a Broadway show and showering her granddaughter with affection.. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend whose sass and humor will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Predeceased by her husband, Bruce and beloved siblings, Louis, Katherine, William, and Carl, Gail is survived by her son, Bruce and his wife, Katie, her granddaughter, Beatrice, and her siblings, John Laursen and Cecelia Scerbo as well as her adored nieces and nephews. 

Visitation will be Thursday, October 18 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood.  A funeral service will begin Friday, October 19 at 10:00 AM.  A Mass of Requiem Eucharist will be said at 10:30 AM at Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, 505 Main Street, Spotswood.  Burial will be at Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions honoring Gail's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital www.stjude.org.
