In her personal life, what made her happiest was creating a home filled with love, appreciating beautiful works of art, working in her garden, and traveling the world with her family. Always a scholar, she continued her education and attended Harvard University’s John F. She was subsequently promoted to the following positions: Special Agent in Charge, NY; Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Investigations, Washington DC; and ultimately retired as the Assistant Inspector General for Investigations establishing her as the highest ranking female Federal Law Enforcement Officer in the United States. After 25 years of service for the federal government, Ruth retired and began working in the private sector for Ernst and Young and finally as Vice President of Corporate Security for ADP.

On September 11, 2001, after the attack on the World Trade Center, Ruth performed duties which earned her the HUD Secretary’s Award for Valor for her actions.
