Viola Kelt-Strahl, 88, of Monroe Twp., passed away on Friday, March 9th, 2018.
Born in Dumont, Viola was raised in Englishtown and lived in Woodbridge before settling in Monroe Twp. in 2002. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, especially Disney World, painting and coloring pictures, needlepoint, playing scrabble and bingo, movies and bird watching. She was an avid reader and a connoisseur of all types of butterflies. But above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Fred Strahl in 1980 and Paul Kelt in 2001, and her siblings, Joseph Schrempp, Charles Ohmott and Leona Tufenkjian. She is survived by her children, Shirley Kling and her husband Harry, Bernice Strahl and Fred Strahl and his wife Marianne, of Monroe Twp.; her brother, Karl Ohmott, and; her seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Cremation was private. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 17th at Lester Memorial Home, 16 West Church Street, Jamesburg from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Arrangements were under the direction of Spotswood Funeral Home.
