Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother

With broken hearts, we announce that Dolores Lear, 87, of Spotswood, passed away at home, surrounded by family on June, 15, 2020.

Born in Elizabeth in 1933, Dee is predeceased by her parents John and Anna Augustine, also her sister Catherine (Dolly) and brother John Jr. (Sonny). Dee graduated in the Class of 1951 from St. Patrick's High School In Elizabeth where she was the cheerleading captain and voted best athlete. She also loved swimming, dancing, roller skating and bowling. She married her husband of 64 years, Harry Lear at St. Patrick's Church in 1953. She worked briefly for NJ Bell in Elizabeth before becoming a homemaker and raising her family. She was a fun and active mother and always present in our daily lives. She had many interests, including knitting and ceramics. Mainly, she had a huge love for reading and could always be found with a book in hand. She loved doing crossword and word find puzzles and looked forward to playing cards, board games, bingo and computer games. She was a big fan of game shows. Her highlight, always looking forward to overnight Atlantic City trips with her husband Harry and family. She loved to shop and dine out. She was a Huge Elvis Presley Fan and had a love for Classic Country Music.

Sadly, she leaves behind her three children, daughters Donna Fredella and husband Vito, Darlene Lear and Fiance Robert Shepherd and his son Christopher, son Robert Lear and grandson Robert H Lear II and his Mother Evelyn Cruz, sister-in-law Rosemary Wlazlawski and, many nieces and nephews.

She will be forever missed and live daily in our hearts and our many memories. She is now resting peacefully with her Husband Harry who passed away in Nov 2017 who she missed dearly.

Due to pandemic restrictions,  the family will grieve privately. A celebration of life will be planned in the future.
