Dr. Lauren Spiegelhoff-Nata, 35, of East Brunswick passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 6, 2021.
Born in New Brunswick, Lauren lived most of her life in Spotswood, settling in East Brunswick in 2016. She attended Spotswood High School and Ramapo College before going on to the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark where she earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Lauren worked as a Physical Therapist for many years helping her patients rehab, both in pediatrics and neurology. She was an avid runner and she completed the New York City Marathon in 2016 and 2018. A proud member of the Wakefern Running Club, she also competed in many half marathons over the years, and was a soccer player during her high school and college years. She loved all animals, especially her cat Gizmo. She was a world traveler visiting Europe, Africa, Iceland and Mexico. She also spent many of her summers at her family's home on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, where she also married her husband David in 2018. Lauren was a great fan of Halloween and loved hosting parties at her home each year. Lauren was always willing to try something new and exciting, such as surfing, ziplining and paddle boarding. Lauren loved visiting her brother in Colorado and snowboarding was always part of the trip.
Lauren is survived by her husband of 3 years, David Nata of East Brunswick; her parents, Ronald and Diane Spiegelhoff of Spotswood, and; her brother, Bryan Spiegelhoff of Colorado.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 11th from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at Spotswood Funeral Home located at 475 Main Street, Spotswood, followed by a private cremation.
