Eleanor J. Banziger, 91, of Spotswood passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021.
Born in Sullivan, Indiana, Eleanor was raised in West Lafayette, Indiana and she also lived in North Dakota and Missouri before settling in Spotswood in 1958. She was a graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed oil painting and American Indian works of art. She loved traveling, especially to visit family in Europe and her trips to Arizona. She was a former member of the Spotswood Seniors and their Red Hat group. Above all, she was a loving wife and mother and raising her family was the most important thing to her.
Predeceased by her husband Ralph in 2010 and her siblings Fredrick Himebrook, Ruth Demmon and Phyllis Huerter, she is survived by her children, Curtis and his wife Linda of Hawaii, Lori Schopper and her husband Kenneth of Illinois, Carl and his wife Lori, also of Illinois and Mark and his wife Susan of Robbinsville, and; her grandchildren, Karen, Heather, Steven, Kristina, Catherine, Courtney, Matthew and Christopher.
Funeral services will begin at 12:30 PM on Friday, July 9th with a committal service at the Brig. General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 8th from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood.
