Gerald Bruno, 84, of Old Bridge passed away at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge on Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Gerald was born and raised in Jersey City New Jersey the youngest of four brothers. He was a proud Army veteran serving 2 year active duty and 2 years active reserve. He married Elaine (Dolan) in 1961 and had three children Lisa, Laura, and Gerald. The family moved to Old Bridge in 1973 and Gerald spent the rest of years there. He was the owner of Jerry’s Luncheonette in Old Bridge for many years. Gerald then proudly worked for the Old Bridge Township Police Department for nearly 20 years as a dispatcher, retiring in 2003. Gerald, affectionately known as Jerry to friends or Uncle Chubby to his nieces and nephews, was devoted to his children and grandchildren. He spent the last nineteen years of his life helping his daughter Laura with her food service business at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church. He loved watching the New York Yankees and Giants. He enjoyed staying connected with friends and family on Facebook. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Predeceased by his wife Elaine in 1999, his daughter Lisa Weston in 2005 and his brothers, John, Anthony and Pasquale, he is survived by his children, Laura Brown and her husband Clint of Spotswood and Gerald Bruno and his wife Jamie of Manalapan; his grandchildren, Jewelle, Raymond, Jacqueline, Thomas, Lauren, James and Laci, and; two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin with a 10:45 AM Mass of Christian Burial from St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, Rt. 18 South, Old Bridge, followed by interment in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick, Funeral Home services are private.
