Jean Marie Bondi

Jean Bondi, 83, of Spotswood, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024.

Jean Marie Smith was born in Brooklyn, New York to Mary and Eugene. Jean was the oldest of seven siblings: Lawrence, Kathleen, Joseph, William, Louise and Patricia.

Married in 1961 to Salvatore Bondi, they lived in Bayside, New York; Old Bridge Township and in 1980, they settled in the Clearwater Village Community in Spotswood, where they enjoyed a wonderful life there until Sal’s passing in 2008.

Jean treasured the memories of her in-laws, Angie, Vincent, Concetta, Louie and Vinny.

Jean was employed by the New York State Department of Banking for 37 years, retiring in 1996.

Jean enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, her trips to Atlantic City and other casino locations, but especially the Tuesday afternoon games in the Clearwater Clubhouse with her friends.

In addition to her siblings, she is survived by many nieces and nephews and, the many close friends she made after moving into Clearwater Village, where she served on various committees, headed the travel committee, and was an officer on the Executive Board, in addition to serving many years as the secretary for the Senior Citizens Club of Spotswood, Inc.

Family and friends are invited to attend a blessing to be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 12:00 PM, in the mausoleum chapel at Holy Cross Burial Park. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Spotswood Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Jean’s memory may be made to the Spotswood Police PBA Local 225 at Post Office Box 51, Spotswood, NJ 08884.
