Liliana A. Mejia, 45, of Spotswood passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Born in Cali, Colombia, Liliana was raised in Elizabeth and settled in Spotswood in 2009. She loved spending time at the beach and traveling. In 2017 Liliana and her family went on a 40 day road trip of all of the western United States National parks and included Banff National Park and Lake Louise in Canada as part of the experience. She was an amazing hiker who loved to go leaf peeping. She once drove 8 hours to peep the perfect leaves in the Allegheny Mountains. She was a dedicated wife, daughter and sister and she loved being a mother to her two sons and a grandmother to her 3 month old granddaughter. She and her sister shared a close bond in life and every time they were together they would spend time laughing about anything and everything.
Liliana is survived by her husband of 8 years, Jonathan Mejia; her sons Alexander and Jonovan Olmo; her mother Luz Vargas; her sister Elayne Karen Vargas, and; her granddaughter Aaliyah Liliana Olmo.
Cremation was private. The family will receive friends at a Celebration of Liliana's Life on Saturday, July 17th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood.
