Margaret Borneo

Margaret Borneo, 80, of Monroe Township passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in East Brunswick.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she lived in Peekskill, New York and Brighton, Michigan before settling in Monroe Township in 1969. She raised her family for many years and then went to work for Bunzyl Corp in accounts payable from 1987 until 1997 after which she enjoyed 23 years of retirement with her loving husband, Anthony. She enjoyed reading, traveling and, volunteering with her church, Saint Peter's Episcopal Church of Spotswood. She taught all those around her how to be kind and help those in need. She loved to laugh and always lit up a room with her smile.

Predeceased by her sister Barbara, she is survived by her husband of 56 years, Anthony; her children, Catherine and Joseph, and; her sister Maureen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 11th, starting at 10:00 AM from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, New York. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 10th, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions placed on gatherings and activities, all current guidelines are to be observed during visitations, including the use of face coverings and social distancing.
