Robert C. Donaldson

Robert Charles Donaldson, 74, of Spotswood, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge after a brief illness.

Born in New Brunswick, Bob lived in East Brunswick and Old Bridge for many years before settling in Spotswood in 1976. After graduating High School, Bob was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam era and he served stateside at Fort Rucker, Alabama from 1966 until he was discharged in 1968. Afterwards, he went on to work for more than 45 years as a Chemical Operator for EI DuPont in Parlin, retiring in 2012. Together with his wife, he was a long time member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church of Spotswood. Bob enjoyed country and 50s/60s music, fishing, tinkering with old cars, his favorite dish of macaroni and cheese and spending time with all of his family, especially his grandson and best friend, Brenndan. Bob was also extremely proud of his granddaughter, Natasha, when she graduated from Kean University with the highest academic honors that the school conveyed. Bob and Natasha enjoyed spending time together watching Dance Moms and playing with goofy snapchat filters.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Sandy Donaldson; his children, Vicki Rosario and David Donaldson; his sisters, Janet Ablauf, Jill Hohn and Judy Evans, and; his grandchildren, Brenndan and Natasha Rosario.

Cremation was private under the direction of Spotswood Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, November 20th at 11:00 AM from St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Spotswood, followed by the committal of the cremains in the Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Bob's memory may be made to the Community of Ministries for the community suppers at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 505 Main Street, Spotswood, NJ 08884.
